The Minister of Education Mr. Frixos Petrides inaugurated Victor Ioannides’s exhibition in October 1970, which is the 13th overall and the 6th taking place at Ledra Palace in Nicosia. Ioannides is said to have already established himself as one of the most important artists on the Island.
In this particular exhibition, the public was moved mainly by his portraits among others, most notably though by the Girl’s Portrait, a portrait of the 'ideal girl' as the painter himself called it.
Traditional in his style, but always with new thematic suggestions, the artist remains one of the press's favorites, as it is noticeable that they praise his work diachronically.
