The tense political atmosphere of the times, is commented on by fellow artist Solomon Frangoulides in an article on the fourth exhibition of Victor Ioannides; he mentions that despite the uneasiness and tensions, the public visited the show and were overjoyed by his 'delicate' and 'balanced' works. Fifty-four works were presented, which, according to the press's dithyrambic commentary, 'manage to penetrate the circumstances of their time, and to capture the modern and contemporary atmosphere without unnecessary and uncertain experimentation.' Dr. Constantinos Spyridakis, President of the Greek Educational Council and Director of the Pancyprian Gymnasium inaugurated the exhibition.
